Quick Tip: Searching for contacts within a company

Xobni has lightening fast people search. But you can also search on company names to find employees within that company with whom you have exchanged emails, or who have been copied on an email with you. So if you are looking for people from Apple Inc, you can search apple.com and you will find people with emails name@apple.com in the search results. Very simple and very powerful.

Let us know your tips on using Xobni. If we publish them, we’ll send you a Xobni t-shirt!

In quick search you can find just about anything. I am a email hoarder, and right now have about 5000 items in my inbox. If I need an address like a did today for a hotel in New York, all I did was type in “New York” and it brought back all the emails with those words. The third one listed was the one I needed. It saved me the effort of google-ing and going through all the links.

I would much rather use Xobni for things like that than google. It’s much easier to stay in my current application than have to switch to something else to do a search.

One suggestion would be to provide an option to always display the email body. That would eliminate the need to keep the Reading Pane open. Currently Xobni Sidebar and Reading Pane together take up a lot of space. Adding this option would help the space issue and will also ensure the user uses the Xobni rather than minimize it.

One suggestion is to put the contact’s department along with the company in the name of the Xobni contact.
That way you can find all users in a particular department. E.g. Joe Bloggs (IT, Company)

    A Suggestion:
Can you put “cpllapse” button on the upper lest corner of the Xobni pane?
(my suggestion – You can make that corner clickable or add image/button)
Since focus area while searching (and by default) is at the upper part of the pane.
You can leave the rest of the buttons at the bottom.

    One suggestion:
I would like to have one feature implemented that shows all the ‘fun facts’ of the person that is visible in the xoboni pane.
For example “John Doe” is selected and I right click on his face or the received email graph it would show the stats regarding “John Doe” like how quick I or he resonds to emails and all the other aggregations between the “fun facts” and “analytics”.

It would be great if I could update the company name after selection of maildomains directly in the outlook contacts. Example: if I find 120 apple.com contacts then it would be great to have the company name in my outlook contacts with one move in Xobni, because I’m regularly to lazy to do it at once.

typically there is no sorting possible by domain name . Sometimes you know someone from accenture sent you an email and you can not remember his name , hence lot of time is spent searching … the find or sort does it on name and not on showing all users from accenture.com together for you to pick the right email.

one should have a feature in which you can search an email by ????@accenture.com where user name is not taken into the search..

this is a suggestion for you to consider in the next version.

You have devised a wonderful tool for the outlook users..!!!
